This agency is at the forefront of technology and innovation. Their clients include research agencies, media agencies and end clients, many of whom are in the e-commerce sector and come directly to the agency for their data, meaning they need guidance and advice on data management, data processing, data connectivity and data analysis.
This role is all about adding value to the data, and that means creating ideas and new processes which mean that the clients get the very most out of their data.
A large part of this role is focused on consultancy: the Data Processing Consultant will be part of a team of ‘data experts’ advising clients on clever ways to use the data, in terms of connecting data sources and getting the best insight possible; the other part of the role is more ‘hands-on’, working on some of the more complex projects where the clients and off-shore data teams need your expertise and guidance.
The role is perfect for a client facing DP expert, who loves working with data, but wants to move away from a purely ‘hands-on’ data processing role into more of a consultancy focused role, advising clients on technical aspects of their data; overseeing and allocating projects, as well as troubleshooting on potential ‘bottlenecks’ and ensuring that the focus is always on the successful delivery of data to clients.
The DP Consultant will be the link between the clients, project management teams and offshore data teams. With an increasing amount of work coming from enterprise (end) clients, the Consultant will be using their expertise to advise clients and project managers on what works and what doesn’t, and offering technical guidance on data.
The role of the DP Consultant is varied, client facing and incredibly important to the success of the business. You’ll need extensive experience of working with data using SPSS, Excel and SQL – previous Quantum experience would be extremely advantageous as would knowledge of Python and R, for merging large data sets from different sources; this is a great opportunity to learn Python and R as training will be provided.
Also crucial to this role, are your strong client skills; the role is very client facing; you’ll regularly be attending client meetings to talk to non-technical staff about their data and the different ways of using it.
The role links consultancy and technical skills with client, project and account management and is a brilliant opportunity to move into a more advisory data role.
