This well-regarded independent insights agency with a wealth of long-standing, leading-brand clients offers what is described as an ‘accommodating, supportive and respectful’ culture. They work with their clients to deliver complex insight in an engaging and actionable way which enables their clients to identify priorities and drive business forward.
This business is highly regarded by its clients – so much so that when clients move on to new organisations, they usually take this agency with them and the sector split is broad; half of the work is within financial services whilst the remaining research could not be more varied – from FMCG to media to membership organisations.
The agency invests heavily in technology and has a strong operations function: a team of experts who are core to the success of the agency and highly respected across the business. The team work in close collaboration with the research and project management functions, ensuring that these teams are working to the highest standards by ensuring they have access to the very best and most innovative software and that processes are in place which enable them to run projects to the very highest standards.
There are three key elements to the role; leadership, resource management and commercial. In essence, the Ops manager will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction and leadership by managing, mentoring and motivating the operations team and ensuring that the entire business is working to the same high standards
- Providing resource management for project delivery (predominantly using CATI technology) and ensuring operational excellence across research and project management, including identifying and embedding new software, reviewing and writing best practice and upskilling the teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and save costs ie. automating processes and identifying ‘potential’ issues at an early stage, ultimately saving time and costs on projects
We are seeking a talented operations manager with 5+ years’ experience in data collection (ideally CATI); someone who thrives on providing operational expertise and consultancy and always strives to deliver by seeing a project through from start to finish. A passion for research technology and data collection is essential (experience of Beacon/Decipher would be a real bonus); someone who is always looking for better and more efficient ways of conducting research from an operational perfective.
And last but not least, strong ‘people skills’ and an ability to lead, mentor and guide teams and create strong relationships with the operations, research and project management teams.
The agency has a lovely culture – ambitious yet not pressured, it is an open environment where everyone has a voice and where ‘operations’ is a highly regarded and valued function within the business.
