Roles in Policy research don’t come up often and they are highly sought after. After all projects are very real, have impact and it’s a fascinating area. The research this team do brings benefit to both individuals and businesses.
Working in an expert team of dedicated Policy researchers, we are looking for either an established Research Manager or an entry level Associate Director. We are very open to talking to either quantitative researchers with a policy/public sector background or a solid quant researcher with a commercial background who has a genuine interest in Policy. What is important is that you have a solid grounding in ad hoc quantitative research, enjoy working with senior level client stakeholders in Government and can manage projects from initial design through to delivering influencing presentations at debrief stages. Whilst this is a quant role, most projects are phased incorporating both quant and qual which will involve working closely with the Policy qual team.
Much of the work is about how the Government can improve things which is particularly important in the current environment where budgets are being cut, efficiency is being demanded and the Government are having to keep pace with technological changes ie the digital drive. This team inform and evaluate policy for the Government eg identify potential issues, researching on how to structure the policy, trialling the output and researching how to market and communicate the policy to both individuals and businesses. Brexit is adding a fascinating dimension!
In summary, we are ideally looking for someone who has solid ad hoc quantitative research skills – a good grounding in the basics – with either a background in or a genuine interest in Policy. As importantly, we need a strong team player with natural communication skills who is down to earth, creative and passionate about what they do.
