What really stands out about this role is the opportunity to work on some of the highest profile and large-scale social research programmes. Not only do these flagship surveys inform the direction of public policy and service provision so your work makes a difference, they are also very highly regarded and respected – often quoted in the quality press and on the news. Social research experience is ideal – but if you are interested and can demonstrate a genuine passion for the work, we would like to hear from you.
This team has an outstanding reputation for delivering large-scale social surveys which help their clients (government departments, academic institutions, think tanks…) to understand the key trends in society as well as to develop and evaluate services and policies which positively change people’s lives. In addition, the team runs smaller continuous studies and ad hoc programmes off the back of the longitudinal studies so the work is evenly split between tracking and hoc.
This team specialises in developing and designing high quality research tools and approaches and extracting good data from very complicated data sets. Methods are being continually updated and undergo significant testing to ensure they are absolutely robust.
Speaking to the team, what they really enjoy about this work is that these are very high profile studies which are used and referred to all the time – they matter. They really do inform the direction of public policy and service provision – so your work makes a difference. They are hugely respected. And the training is outstanding incorporating on the job training from highly regarded industry experts, structured inhouse sessions and recognised external programs. You will be supported and funded should you wish to complete the MRS certificate.
We are looking for a Senior Research Executive (either someone stepping up or someone already at SRE level) who has a quant research background and exceptional project management and interpersonal skills. We need a strong team player with natural communication skills who is down to earth, creative and passionate about what they do.
For the larger projects, the focus is on managing the projects to ensure they run to plan – including managing internal stakeholders – as well as considering how to get the best results from the work for example experimenting with incentives. For the smaller studies, there is the opportunity to get involved in the end to end process from taking the brief to developing the proposal, questionnaire design, analysis and working with clients.
