Working with key government departments, leading charities, and think tanks, this role is in a team focused on health and social care including patient experience, health inequalities, social care, disabilities, mental health…their remit is broad. Ultimately their focus is to ensure their clients deliver their policies, campaigns, interventions and services more effectively.
In terms of the specifics, their work includes looking at the perceptions and experiences of patients to healthcare services: GP services, maternity services, emergency care etc in order to understand outcomes and improve the quality of these services. They work to understand the public perception of key healthcare services: who is using them, when and why, in order to inform policy and communications and to improve services – a recent project in this area focused on A & E services.
This is all very important work which makes a difference to people’s lives. Their key audiences are the public, patients, professionals and wider stakeholders – including vulnerable people – it is very varied.
Quant focused, this role supports a range of high-profile surveys – specifically managing data and analysis of large surveys. Analysing large datasets and applying appropriate statistical tests and preparing data outputs including the creation of new variables are key parts of the role. You will have the opportunity to drive more efficient and effective processes including automation. This is a client facing role so you will get to know their objectives and what they do with the insight you provide.
We need to see the ability to understand and work with large datasets, knowledge of at least one statistical software package, a good understanding of statistical tests and their uses, excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills.
