Job Search

Experienced SRE or entry/mid-level Research Manager; global media/entertainment brands; quant; mainly ad hoc; outstanding development; nurturing culture

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a true success story of a research agency in the media and entertainment space. They have gone from strength to strength and their USP is to provide clarity to their clients’ complex problems. Their people are clever and they have a wonderfully warm, supportive and genuinely caring culture. This role is focused predominantly on strategic, ad hoc work with global brands. Clients listen to the insight this agency brings and, in the words of the team lead, their work goes far into their clients’ businesses.

For this role, we are looking for a brilliant Senior Research Executive or an entry or mid-level Research Manager to join a team focused on the more strategic and creative work. In their words, this is a team of “naturally big thinkers”.

The focus is on ad hoc work, with one tracker from which most of the work is on deep dives. Recent examples of projects include:

  • For a start-up streaming service: deep dives, driver analysis, creative and ad testing, modelling, conjoints, segmentation… The agency is very invested in this client and are very much seen as trusted advisors, with input into strategic decisions at board level.
  • For another entertainment brand launching a new product: naming, message testing, exploring benefits and features for new products – conjoint, marketing comms…
  • For a major media brand: lots of analytics work, working with the agency’s hugely highly regarded data modelling team.

This role will suit someone who loves to work really closely with their clients so they can understand their clients’ businesses and add value, and who has strong communication skills to work with a wide range of client stakeholders. It will appeal to someone who has strong attention to detail and great organisational skills. You will also need to be genuinely interested in media and entertainment, although you do not need sector experience (although this would be ideal).

You will need strong quant skills and enjoy analysing data and creating clear insights your clients can use. The team uses a wide range of analytical techniques; you do not need experience in these so long as you have strong quant skills – they are very happy to train.

This agency has a stand-out culture. Whilst they are clever and strategic, the people are very approachable as well as refreshingly straightforward and realistic. Clearly very successful and brilliant at what they do, they are down to earth and supportive. And they are serious about career progression. In their words, this role gives exposure to all aspects of research management so will be a great springboard to progression within the agency.
