Qualitative Associate Director: focus on FS and FinTech; award-winning; dynamic; growing; people-focused culture

As the result of sustained growth, we are looking for an Associate Director to focus on a portfolio of leading FS and FinTech clients (there will be the opportunity to be involved in other sectors should you wish).

This is a hugely dynamic sector – new entrants are coming in to the market and challenging established players, trust and security remain huge issues, payment options are exploding, the pandemic has given rise to unexpected hardship and financial complexity…Money is an emotive topic and peoples’ attitudes are fascinating, rarely rational and often unexpected! This makes it a fascinating area to explore.

This role offers challenging and varied projects, the autonomy to create your own solutions to interesting client briefs and the opportunity to work with smart and engaged colleagues including industry-leading experts in their fields (ethnographers, digital experts, semioticians…).

The team culture here is described as “casual, autonomous, innovative and creative” and refreshingly, both time and funding are made available for the development of new ideas/ways of working.  This team pride themselves on using the most up-to-date approaches and sophisticated techniques, as well as creating new and bespoke ways of working – everyone in the team can be part of it and there are lots of examples of ideas being funded, piloted and rolled out.

This agency wins awards for their innovative and forward-thinking HR initiatives – many of them based on staff wellbeing – and on their benefits package. Their staff satisfaction scores, which were already sky high, have improved over the last year as a result of how the senior leadership team has managed the situation. And their business continues to grow – this is both an exciting and secure environment in which to develop your career in the long term.

For this role, we are looking for a talented qualitative researcher who has a genuine interest and ideally some experience in financial services and experience of both traditional and/or digital methodologies.  Demonstrating outstanding client-facing skills, this opportunity will suit an ambitious quallie who loves to take ownership and is genuinely curious and interested.
