This is a rare role on the social/public sector side where the client is open to someone with a social research background – or someone with a B2B commercial research background. The focus of this role is on research programmes which inform both policy and communications related to driving trade, business, and innovation in the UK. As this is a new role, they are open to someone at Research Manager or Associate Director level.
Working with key government departments and leading organisations in the social research space, the programmes here are very broad. Recent projects include considering whether there are sufficient skills to drive new areas such as AI and data science in the UK and what needs to be done to enhance these growing areas; understanding how businesses are adapting to different trade rules as a result of Brexit and how this can be improved; a ground-breaking study looking at the actions businesses are taking to reduce their carbon emissions; studies examining the levels of cyber security breaches in the UK, the preventative steps being taken and the impact on businesses…
What the team say is really special is that they get to know their clients very well, either because projects are long term or they conduct ongoing programmes that build on previous work. As a result, the team say they really get to see the impact of their work and they find this very motivating.
This is a mixed methods role and the client is open to applicants with a heavier focus on quant or qual – and also to quant-only candidates – to complement the existing team. The team use lots of innovative ways of working and their clients are really open to that i.e., eye tracking, augmented reality, online communities, digital ethnographic studies…there is definitely the opportunity to think differently.
We are looking for an experienced researcher with an agency-side background who can lead the delivery and quality of projects, from designing the methodology through to analysis and delivery to the client. This is a client facing role and will suit someone who enjoys client leadership and consulting. We need to see experience of writing/inputting into winning proposals, project management and also overseeing the work of juniors – line management is an important part of this role.
The client is open to people who have a social research background and an interest in business AND those with a B2B research background.
This is a very prestigious agency, well known and recognised for its robust methodologies, innovative approach and strategic outputs. A highly innovative and forward-thinking environment, this is a place for people who love to take ownership and make things happen – you are given autonomy and support to do just that. The people here are genuinely curious and interested in what they do. The training on offer is second-to-none and development opportunities, here and overseas should you wish, are huge.
As a result of all this, people stay – they talk about being challenged, consistently offered new opportunities, being listened to, and enjoying being in a culture where anyone at any level can have an opinion, be heard and lead on projects.
