Research Director; social research; quantitative; help lead an already-successful team; focus on children/young adults/education

This is an exciting opportunity for an established quant or quant-focused social researcher to lead on major programmes focused on children, young people, families and education.  This work informs both policy and service provision and so positively impacts on the lives of children and young people.

This global full-service agency is highly regarded in the social research space; the quality of their work is well known. And this team is growing at a pace: this is a newly created role as a result of growth.

The work is both varied and important; recent programmes include researching the impact of services set up to address the needs of vulnerable families, considering the outcomes of services focused on helping prevent young children getting involved in crime, understanding the impact of gambling advertising on young people, research into abuse of children in social care… critical and high areas which will see you working alongside government departments, NGOs and charities.

You will be directing large and complex quantitative projects across the project lifecycle, supporting the junior team, developing senior client relationships, leading on winning proposals in order to drive continued growth and raising the profile of the work this team does – through speaking at conferences, webinars, posts etc.

For this role, we need a collaborative and entrepreneurial individual who loves the idea of helping run and develop a mini-business alongside other brilliant and dynamic people.  Quant experience is a must: you must be comfortable leading on large complex surveys, ideally school surveys or surveys targeting young people and families. Evaluation skills would be useful – evaluation is a growing area for this business. You will need to enjoy working with senior client stakeholders and internal teams. And you need to be able to spin plates – this is a busy team and you will need to ensure work is both high quality and profitable.

This prestigious organisation is well known and recognised for their robust methodologies, innovative approach and strategic outputs.  A highly innovative and forward-thinking environment, it is a place for people who love to take ownership and make things happen – you are given autonomy, with support, to do just that. The people here are genuinely curious and interested in what they do and they are motivated to generate insight that ultimately makes a positive difference to people’s lives.

This organisation genuinely cares about its staff and has an ever-evolving HR strategy to enable people to be their best and be supported. It is a fantastic place to develop your career and enjoy yourself along the way.
